Sydney Anderson - 2014 AMLRC Duchess
Hi! I'm Sydney Anderson and I am your AMLRA 2014-2015 duchess. When I was little, I said I was going to get a mini lop when I was 5 because Michelle Wojcik introduced me to hers. It took me a little longer than that but here I am! I have been raising mini lops for about 4 years. I have gotten more into the project over the years through not just buying and showing but breeding and selling them as well. Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 13 years old and entering 8th grade at Phoenix Middle School in Delavan, WI. I am a very busy girl with all of the sports that I do (softball, basketball volleyball and track). However, I always make sure that I have time for my rabbits and goats, no matter how crazy it gets. I look forward to encouraging other youth to fall in love with Mini Lops, just like I did! Thank you to Dale and Pam for providing so much encouragement and support over the last couple of years. I am looking forward to attending my first ARBA National convention this year...see you in Texas!
Kailey Hockerman - 2014 AMLRC Princess
Hello, my name is Kailey Kalvin Hockerman, I am nine years old. I am a third grader at Coloma Elementary School in Westfield, Wisconsin. My parents are Ben and Megan Hockerman and I have a younger brother Keegan and a younger sister Kayden. Our family has been raising and showing rabbits for three years. mini Lops are my breed of choice but we also raise Black dutch; Black Banded Dwarf Hotots; and Californians.
Raising Mini Lops has been an awesome journey for me so far. I have been gifted with some great mentors who have helped me unconditionally. I have developed lifelong friendships with other youth. But most of all, this hobby has instilled life values in me such as responsibility; respect and compassion. Responsibility of raising my Mini Lops; feeding; cleaning; record keeping and compassion. Respect for the breeders who have helped me along the way. And compassion for my rabbits and my friends; in the barn or at the show table; for the litters raised and the litters lost; for maintaining used equipment and saving up for something new.
I have experienced a lot of highs and a lot of lows raising Mini Lops. All though my lows still outnumber my highs I will share with you some of my most recent highs: 2014 AMLRC Nationals - Youth BOS; AMLRC Nationals - Youth Best Fur; 2013 AMLRC Miss Lady Mini Lop; 2012 AMLRC Nationals - Youth BOB.
When I am not showing my Mini Lops I enjoy my other organized activities such as volleyball, basketball and dance.
This year I was old enough to join the Marquette County - Springfield Fun-Runners 4-H Club. My projects include rabbits; beef; photography and foods. I recently did my first demonstration and of course it was on my Mini Lop rabbits. I did a colorful display of a timeline of the development of Mini Lop kits. Although Wisconsin has an over-all strong rabbit community, my county lacks youth involvement. As a representative of rabbits and this breed I plan on getting the youth that are in the rabbit project more involved; pride resources (whether it is printing information of the AMLRC or ARBA website or referring them to other breeders that might have more experience); encourage county wide classes and seminars (or piggy-back with neighboring counties).
I am honored to be your 2014 Miss Princess Mini Lop!

Prince ~ Rodney Allen
I am 11 years old and I am from North Carolina. I enjoy playing baseball, basketball and working with my Mini Lop rabbits. I enjoy math and science in school. I have been working with Mini Lops for a little less than a year. I got into raising and showing rabbits because my step mommy and aunt and uncle show rabbits and I thought it would be fun, they show different breeds than I do. Sometimes it is hard work but I enjoy working with the rabbits and showing them at the different shows we attend. I want to work to show others about rabbits and learning to raise them. This year I want to show my rabbits at the fair so lots of people can see them and learn everything I know about rabbits.
